Either. A lot of our work comes through builders directly, and we also deal straight with homeowners who are managing their own renovation. Whichever suits, we will coordinate around the other trades.
Often, yes. Adding circuits for a new kitchen, bathroom or extension frequently needs board capacity that is not there. We check at quoting so it is in the price rather than a surprise halfway through. See switchboard upgrades.
We can talk through downlight layouts, pendants, and where feature or strip lighting will actually work, and we will flag anything that needs to be decided before the cabinetry is built.
We run data wiring, antenna and camera cabling as part of the same rough-in. It is far cheaper to do it while the walls are open than to retrofit afterwards.
Yes. Extensions mean new circuits and often a new sub-board, plus tying the new work into the existing wiring. Where that existing wiring needs attention we tell you at quoting.

The Rough-In
This is the stage that decides what the finished house can do. Every circuit, switch drop, light point, powerpoint and data run gets cabled while the frame is open.
It is worth spending time on the plan here. Walking the open frame and marking where the bed goes, which side the fridge opens, and where you will actually want a switch takes an hour and saves a lot of regret.
The Fit-Off
Once the plaster, cabinetry and finishes are in, we come back and fit the switches, outlets, fittings and the board, then test and commission everything.
This stage is quick when the rough-in was done properly, which is the whole argument for getting the first stage right.
Kitchens and Bathrooms
These two rooms carry most of the electrical load in a renovation. Kitchens need dedicated circuits for the oven and cooktop, plenty of bench outlets, under-cabinet lighting and often an induction upgrade the old board cannot carry.
Bathrooms need proper separation, exhaust that actually clears moisture, heating, and mirror or vanity lighting that is placed to be useful rather than decorative.

The details that make a renovation look finished are usually electrical. Strip lighting under a benchtop, backlighting behind a panel, lit shelving in a trophy cabinet or display joinery.
All of it has to be cabled before the joinery is installed, with somewhere accessible for drivers to live.
