Home Electrical and Switchboards

Most homes in the eastern suburbs were wired for a lot less than we now plug into them. Older switchboards run out of room, rewirable fuses do not offer the protection modern safety switches do, and circuits that were fine twenty years ago start tripping once an induction cooktop, a heat pump and a car charger are added.

We upgrade switchboards, trace faults back to their actual cause rather than resetting a breaker and leaving, add powerpoints where rooms have been reconfigured, and install and replace smoke alarms. We also handle safety inspections and test and tag.

Indoor and Outdoor Lighting

Lighting changes how a room feels more than almost anything else you can do to it. We replace tired halogen downlights with LED, hang pendants and chandeliers, and build the integrated lighting that makes joinery and display cabinetry work.

Outside, floodlights and sensor lighting cover driveways and entries, while garden and step lighting makes the yard usable after dark. Both are worth planning together so the house reads as one job rather than a series of add-ons.

Renovations, Extensions and Custom Work

Renovation electrical runs in two stages. The rough-in happens while the walls are open, and the fit-off happens near the end once linings, cabinetry and finishes are in. Getting the first stage right matters, because moving a circuit after the plaster is on is expensive.

We work to your plans and around the other trades, covering kitchens, bathrooms, lighting, powerpoints, switchboards and data. This is also where our custom work sits, including trophy cabinet lighting, joinery-integrated strip lighting, backlighting and display lighting.

EV Charger Installation

A home charger turns charging into something that happens overnight rather than something you plan your week around. The install itself is usually straightforward, but the switchboard often is not: many older boards need upgrading before a charger can be added safely.

We check that first and tell you up front, then run the circuit, mount the unit and test it. We install for Tesla, BYD, BMW and Mercedes, along with other makes, and we do commercial charger installations as well.

Cooling and Air Movement

Ceiling fans make a real difference in bedrooms and living areas through a Melbourne summer, and they cost very little to run. Exhaust fans matter for a different reason, keeping moisture out of bathrooms and laundries so it does not end up in the ceiling.

We install both, and we handle the electrical side of air conditioning, including the dedicated circuits and isolators split systems need.

Commercial and Hospitality Electrical

A venue lives or dies on how it feels, and lighting does most of that work. We have fitted out bars, restaurants and cafes, running the feature and decorative lighting, backlighting and general power that makes a room work for both staff and customers.

Beyond fit-outs we cover refurbishments, new circuits, electrical alterations, data and communications, ongoing maintenance and fault finding for shops, offices and other commercial premises.

Emergency Electrical

Some electrical problems cannot wait for business hours. A dead switchboard, a circuit that keeps tripping, burning smells, damaged wiring after storm or water damage, or a defect notice from the distributor all need attention straight away.

We run a 24/7 emergency service to find the fault, isolate anything unsafe and get power back on where we can.
