Something Keeps Tripping and Nobody Knows Why
Intermittent faults are the ones that waste everyone’s time. A circuit drops out once a week, the lights flicker when the dryer runs, or half the house goes dark and comes back when you flick the breaker.
Resetting it makes the symptom go away, which is exactly why the real cause sits there for months.
Behind it there is usually something specific: cabling damaged by a nail or a rodent, a fitting that has failed, water in an outdoor outlet, or a connection that has worked loose and is heating up.
That last one is worth taking seriously. A loose connection under load is how electrical fires start.

Find the Cause, Fix the Cause
We test methodically rather than guessing at the most likely culprit. That means isolating circuits, measuring, and narrowing it down until the fault is located rather than suspected.
Then we tell you what we found, what the repair involves and what it costs, before we carry it out.
Most faults come back to damaged cabling, a failed fitting or accessory, water ingress, or a connection that needs remaking. Some are a five minute fix once located. Others mean replacing a run of cable.
If the fault turns out to be the switchboard itself, we will say so rather than patching around it.

Sam and is team were marvelous when I encountered some serious issues on an old property I had just purchased. The job was risky, dirty and difficult and I had just been let down by another electrician. Sam was recommended by my builder and as soon as he came on site he gave me complete confidence that he could fix everything - and he did. His team were professional at all times, very courteous and respectful. He was always on time and was always patient with me when he explained things (I am definitely not a technical person). I thoroughly recommend Sam and his team for quality, value, punctuality and above all courtesy. Thanks Sam, thanks DJ!

Sam has been our first point of contact when it comes to electrical issues in our house. Sam really knows what he is doing and also consider our preferences when we ask not to make too many holes in our house. He is a professional and you can tell straight away that he is very good, plus meticulous with his work. Highly recommended. 10/10!!!

Fault Finding Questions
It is charged as part of the job rather than given away, because tracing an intermittent fault properly takes time. We will tell you what we have found and what the repair costs before we do it.
Straightforward faults are often located within an hour. Intermittent ones that only appear under certain conditions take longer, because the fault has to be reproduced before it can be isolated.
A safety switch tripping is doing its job, so the tripping itself is protection working. What matters is why. Repeated tripping means there is a fault or an overload that needs finding, not a breaker that needs holding in.
Often yes, if the repair is within the scope of what we can do on the day and you are happy with the price. Larger repairs, like replacing a damaged cable run, may need a return visit.
Then we will tell you. Sometimes repeated tripping is an old board that has run out of capacity rather than a fault on a circuit. See switchboard upgrades.
